WAGE Welcomes New Leadership

Recent elections during the Spring Assembly in Dallas bring fresh perspectives to WAGE’s Executive Board.

Dallas, TX – In a significant reshuffling at the top, the Working Assembly of Governmental Employees (WAGE) announced the appointment of new board executives during its Spring Assembly held on March 7 in Dallas, Texas. The leadership changes come at a critical time as the organization seeks to enhance its advocacy and support for public employee organizations across the nation.

New Roles, Renewed Vision

  • DeAndre Caruthers, President of the Las Vegas City Employees' Association (LVCEA), steps in as the new President of WAGE. Caruthers brings with him a robust background in leadership and a proven track record of advocacy. His vision for WAGE includes a strong emphasis on growth, board involvement, and innovation to drive the organization forward.

  • Continuing in his role, Ronnie Lira, Vice President of the Glendale City Employees’ Association (GCEA), will serve as Secretary. Lira’s ongoing commitment to WAGE has been instrumental in maintaining continuity and stability within the board.

  • Marshall Terry, Executive Director of the Virginia Government Employees Association (VGEA) and former President of WAGE will now assume the role of Member at Large where he will continue to leverage his extensive experience to strengthen and grow WAGE.

The Spring Assembly also served as a platform for the board and members to voice their needs and expectations from WAGE, ensuring that the leadership transitions align with the members' best interests.

With these changes, WAGE is poised to enter a new phase of growth and impact. The organization continues to advocate for the rights and welfare of public employees, emphasizing the importance of independence and self-governance within the sector.
